MANILA, Philippines — The city government placed another community in Muntinlupa under granular lockdown due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said yesterday.
In a statement,Fresnedi said he placed Number 1405, Jacksonville II in Barangay Putatan under extreme localized community quarantine (ELCQ) for 15 days, starting on Friday. The lockdown would last until Sept. 18.
The area is the 15th community in the city placed under ELCQ after 10 out of 21 residents tested positive for COVID-19.
The attack rate in the area is at 4,671.90 per 10,000 population, with a doubling time of two days.
Fresnedi urged residents in the city to “exercise extra caution and be vigilant.”
As of Friday, the city has 20,954 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 18,107 recoveries and 458 deaths. It has 2,389 active cases.
