Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese businessman and his companion were arrested on Thursday for allegedly reselling petroleum products in Hilongos, Leyte.

Haifang Xu and Jennifer Costo were arrested by operatives of the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in an entrapment in Barangay Central Poblacion at around 4:30 p.m.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro said the suspects sold three boxes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) canisters worth P22,500 to undercover agents. He said six other boxes of LPG-filled canisters were seized from the suspects.

“I instructed our regional field unit to coordinate with the Bureau of Immigration on the status of the Chinese national,” Ferro said
