Quarantine violator accuses cop of rape

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman is in hot water for allegedly raping a female quarantine violator in Mariveles, Bataan on Friday.

Pat. Elmer Tuazon Jr., 24, was relieved from his post at the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said yesterday.

The PNP chief ordered Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon to investigate the alleged incident.

Tuazon and Armando Dimaculangan, 53, a member
of the Mariveles public safety office, reportedly accosted the 19-year-old victim at a checkpoint in Barangay Batangas II.

Tuazon allegedly brought the victim to his boarding house, where he and Dimaculangan took turns in molesting her.

The two underwent inquest proceedings for rape and acts of lasciviousness yesterday.

Eleazar said Tuazon faces sanctions if proven that he raped the teenager.

“Walang lugar sa PNP ang mga pulis na ginagamit ang kapangyarihan na ipinagkaloob ng taong-bayan para magsamantala at mang-abuso ng ating mga
kababayan,” he said.
