Isko Moreno out of hospital after COVID-19 bout
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was discharged yesterday from the Sta. Ana Hospital, 11 days after he was infected with COVID-19.
Despite being declared as recovered by his physicians, Moreno still needs to be isolated for three more days, according to city public information office chief Julius Leonen.
Leonen said Moreno was discharged from the Manila Infectious Disease Control Center of the hospital at around 9 a.m.
The mayor had not shown symptoms of the disease in the last five days, Leonen said.
In a Facebook post, Moreno shared photos of him leaving the hospital.
“I am a COVID survivor. Salamat po sa Diyos,” Moreno said.
Moreno, who was fully vaccinated against COVID-19, tested positive for the virus on Aug. 15.
Hospital director Dr. Grace Padilla said Moreno had complained of cough, cold and body pains. He also experienced loss of smell and taste.
Manila Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, a physician and fully vaccinated against COVID-19, had also tested positive for the virus.
