PGH COVID-19 ward beyond capacity
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) announced yesterday that there are 100 patients too many for its 230-bed allocation for COVID-19 cases.
“Most of them are in need of intensive care, high-flow oxygen and ventilators,” the hospital said in an advisory.
PGH has also stopped accepting patients at its emergency room, saying the welfare of its patients and staff would be at risk.
“We appeal for understanding. You may continue to coordinate with our PGH Transfer Command Center,” it said.
