MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Taguig ramped up its preparedness against the more infectious Delta variant as it increased the number of beds for COVID-19 cases.
City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance chief Dr. Jun Sy said they increased Taguig’s hospital bed capacity by 60 percent.
“From 130 beds, we now have about 200 beds for COVID-19 cases,” Sy said.
City hall also purchased additional hospital equipment.
“We acquired more high flow oxygen machines and oxygen concentrators. Quarantine facilities in the city are also ready for a possible surge in COVID cases,” Sy said.
