Drug suspect slain in Bulacan sting

MALOLOS, Philippines — An alleged drug trafficker was killed in a sting that resulted in the recovery of shabu with an estimated street value of P3 million in Marilao, Bulacan on Saturday.

Tony Cabas died at the scene after he allegedly drew his gun, triggering a firefight in Barangay Sta. Rosa II, according to the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG).

Aside from illegal drugs, probers said they recovered a .45 caliber pistol, ammunition, phone, drug paraphernalia and marked money from the suspect.

Cabas was reportedly supplying drugs in Mandaluyong, Quezon City and Pasig, according to PNP-DEG chief Brig. Gen. Remus Medina.
