120 Pampanga barangays remain flooded

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — At least 120 barangays in 10 towns in Pampanga remained flooded yesterday due to heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon last week, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The PDRRMO said 276,776 residents of 24 barangays in Masantol, 22 in Macabebe, 24 in Lubao, six in Apalit, 14 each in Guagua and Minalin, seven in Sto. Tomas, five in San Simon, three in Bacolor and one in Candaba were affected.

Damage to agriculture was initially pegged at P268. 3 million.

Lubao was most affected with damage placed at P78.9 million followed by San Luis with P41.5 million and Apalit, P34.4 million.

Damage to the fisheries sector was estimated at P85 million, mostly in Minalin and Masantol.
