5 cops tagged in kidnap-slay of woman dismissed
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar ordered yesterday the dismissal of five policemen in Nueva Ecija who allegedly kidnapped for ransom and murdered a woman from Cavite.
Eleazar directed the PNP Internal Affairs Service to initiate summary dismissal proceedings against Senior S/Sgts.
June Malilin, Benedict Reyes and Drextemir Esmundo, M/Sgt. Rowen Martin and Cpl. Julius Alcantara.
Civilians Franklin Macapagal and Dario Robarios were also tagged in the kidnap-slay of online seller Nadia Casar, whose charred remains were recovered in Barangay Imelda Valley in Palayan City on Sunday.
Quoting a report of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group, Eleazar said Casar and a Grab driver she hired were kidnapped in Barangay Tagpos in Sta. Rosa town on July 20.
The suspects took the driver’s cell phone and P4,500 in cash and released him the following day.
