MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) deported yesterday 10 Japanese allegedly wanted for telecommunications fraud in their country.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the deportees were among the 34 Japanese arrested by the BI on Nov. 13, 2019 at a Makati hotel where they were caught engaging in voice phishing and telephone fraud.
The Japanese were blacklisted and banned from reentering the Philippines.
