MANILA, Philippines — Two earthquakes struck off the coast of Davao Occidental yesterday.
The first quake, a magnitude 6.1, was recorded at around 8:43 a.m. about 368 kilometers south of Sarangani.
The quake had a depth of focus of 41 kms and was tectonic in nature.
A magnitude 5.4 temblor struck at 8:51 a.m. around 304 kms, also south of Sarangani.
The tectonic quake had a depth of focus of 97 kilometers.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said there was no reported intensity and damage, but aftershocks were expected from the temblors.
