MANILA, Philippines — Five delivery riders were scammed by a poser of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, the city government reported yesterday.
The riders, who were not named by city hall, received orders from Moreno’s poser to deliver food to the mayor’s office.
The poser used different international phone numbers.
Moreno paid the riders worth around P5,000 in food deliveries, his information officer Julius Leonen said.
City hall has coordinated with the Manila Police District to investigate the incident.
Moreno urged fraudsters not to take advantage of delivery riders amid the pandemic.
