PMMA cadet arrested over colleague’s death

SAN NARCISO, Zambales, Philippines — A cadet of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) was arrested in connection with the death of another cadet on Tuesday.

Third Class Jomel Gloria reportedly confessed that he accidentally punched Fourth Class Jonash Bondoc, who was found unconscious at the Alpha Company barrack’s restroom.

Bondoc was declared dead on arrival at the San Marcelino District Hospital.

Police are still waiting for the autopsy report to determine the cause of Bondoc’s death.
