Go aids TODA members in Caloocan

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go on Wednesday distributed assistance to 600 members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) in Caloocan.

Go acknowledged the struggles faced by TODA members who continue to provide for their families and help the communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

He recognized the transport sector’s significant role to boost the economy.

“Importante ang mga tricycle, jeepney and pedicab drivers dahil kung wala sila, mahihirapan ang riding public. Kapag walang transportasyon pilay po ang ating ekonomiya,” Go said.

“Essential workers, economic frontliners and drivers are important. That is why they are part of the priority lists for COVID vaccination,” he added.

Go, chairman of the Senate committee on health, urged public utility vehicle drivers to get vaccinated under the A4 category.

He also asked the public to support the government’s vaccination program to reach herd immunity.
