MANILA, Philippines — The name of fugitive businessman and suspected drug lord Peter Go Lim has been on the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol)’s red notice list since March 2019, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra said yesterday.

“Still no information on his whereabouts,” Guevarra said.

An Interpol red notice alerts the police worldwide about the whereabouts of fugitives. A red notice will be issued upon the request of the member country.

Lim made the news again after Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año said that he has left the country.

But last Monday, Guevarra said the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has no record of any recent departure by Lim, whose last recorded foreign travel was in 2017.

Lim’s passport expired in 2019 and there is an active hold departure order issued against him in 2018.

However, Guevarra is not discounting the possibility that the alleged drug lord might have slipped out of the country via the southern backdoor.

According to the BI, Lim has several namesakes, with at least one having left the country recently.

Lim is allegedly one of the suppliers of another drug trafficker, Kerwin Espinosa. He was listed in the order of battle of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. He was indicted by the DOJ on charges of conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading.

He is also said to be one of the campaign supporters of President Duterte in the 2016 elections.
