MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Bukidnon on Monday night.
The quake, which occurred at around 10:38 p.m. and was centered 12 kilometers northwest of Kadingilan town, was felt at Intensity 6, which is classified by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) as ”very strong.”
The agency warned the public of damage and aftershocks.
Phivolcs said the temblor was felt at Intensity 5 or strong in Damulog and Don Carlos, also in Bukidnon, and Wao, Lanao del Sur.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4 or moderately strong in Kalilangan, Kitaotao, Pangantucan, Kibawe, Maramag, Quezon, Libona and Talakag in Bukidnon; Marantao, Lanao del Sur; Pikit, North Cotabato; Iligan; Cagayan de Oro; Banisilan and Marawi.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Malaybalay, Baungon, Cabanglasan, Impasug-ong, Malitbog, San Fernando, Lantapan and Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon; City of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental; Pagadian, and Davao City.
It was felt at Intensity 2 in Arakan and M’lang, Cotabato; Kidapawan City; Dipolog City; Datu Piang, Maguindanao; Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur; Opol, Misamis Oriental, and Monkayo, Davao de Oro.
