18 families lose homes in Pasay fire
MANILA, Philippines — At least 18 families were left homeless when a fire broke out at a residential area in Pasay City before dawn yesterday.
Six houses along 1st street in Pildera 2, Barangay 194 were destroyed by the blaze, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
The fire started at around 1 a.m. and reached second alarm at around 1:19 a.m.
Around 17 BFP firetrucks and 25 others from volunteer brigades rushed to the scene to contain the fire.
The fire was declared under control at around 2:40 a.m.
The BFP estimated the damage at around P350,000.
In Quezon City, around 50 families were displaced by a fire that engulfed a residential compound yesterday afternoon.
Arson probers said the fire broke out at 288 Sagingan street in Barangay Holy Spirit at around 3:34 p.m.
The BFP said 51 firetrucks responded to put out the fire.
At least 25 houses were destroyed by the fire.
The BFP said it has yet to establish the cause of the fire.
No one was reported injured in the twin fires.
