MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government inked a deal with the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) to boost its personnel for the megacity's massive COVID-19 vaccination effort.
The partnership ACT-CIS, which committed to provide medical teams, followed the city's previous agreements with malls that serve as drive-thru venues for public inoculation.
Mayor Joy Belmonte said the additional doctors and nurses for "Bayanihan sa Turukan" through the party-list, led by broadcasters Raffy and Erwin Tulfo, will support four of the sites and expand their capacity to accommodate more people.
"Since last year, we have received a myriad of support from different organizations and have established the whole-of-city approach in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic," Belmonte said in a news release.
ACT-CIS won one seat in the 16th Congress and three seats in the 18th Congress as the top party-list in the 2019 elections.
As of May 19, a total of 272,046 doses were administered to Quezon City residents and workers. Of which, 204,394 were for a first dose while 67, 652 were for a second dose.
