MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man and his wife were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly operating a prostitution ring in Metro Manila.
Xiangce Kong and Ma. Angelica Belga Kong allegedly trafficked the women who were housed in an exclusive village in Parañaque City, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The couple allegedly operated within the National Capital Region Plus bubble to easily transport the women, the NBI said.
At least 20 women were rescued by the NBI at a Pasay motel where the sting happened and at their accommodation site in Parañaque.
The couple allegedly trafficked the women to Chinese clients through the online messaging application Telegram, the NBI said.
