MANILA, Philippines — Around 20 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P136 million were confiscated by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during separate stings in Las Piñas and Parañaque on Friday.
In Las Pinas, three drug suspects were arrested and 10 kilos of shabu valued at P68 milion were seized in Barangay Pamplona Tres at around 8:30 p.m., PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon told reporters in a Viber message.
Carreon identified the suspects as Mohaimen Andang, 28; Harvy Dumrang, 18; and Marilou Leviste, 49, who are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
The suspects were placed under arrest after they allegedly sold shabu to PDEA agents posing as drug buyers.
Apart from drugs, three cell phones and a black Toyota Vios were confiscated from the suspects.
Around 10 more kilos of shabu, also valued at P68 million, were confiscated by PDEA agents and Parañaque police officers along Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay Sto. Niño at around 7 p.m.
Ralel Barauntong, 29, was apprehended after he negotiated with an undercover police officer for a pack of shabu.
Lawmen also recovered from Barauntong a cell phone and a gray Chevrolet Optra.
Meanwhile, five suspected drug pushers were arrested in Marikina the same night.
Around 12 grams of shabu with a street value of P81,600 were confiscated from Nico Ramos, 28; Christian Valdez, 35; Jenica Valdez, 35; Mark Joseph Clabaton, 29; and Marvin Sarana, 30, who were arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Nangka at around 6:50 p.m.
