MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director general Wilkins Villanueva has returned to work after recovering from COVID-19.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon said in a text message Villanueva went back to work on Thursday and is doing well after his bout with the potentially fatal disease.
Villanueva on Friday supervised the basic pistol and rifle marksmanship and gun safety exercises for the agency’s lawyers at the the PDEA head office in Quezon City.
Villanueva announced that he tested positive for the virus on March 14, a day before he was supposed to testify at a Senate inquiry into the deadly shootout between PDEA agents and Quezon City police officers last month.
