MANILA, Philippines — A woman was injured after a sport utility vehicle (SUV) crashed into a Land Bank of the Philippines branch in Quezon City yesterday.

Lt. Col. Manny Siniguian, who heads the Quezon City Police District’s traffic enforcement unit, said the accident occured at the parking lot of the bank along EDSA in Barangay Ramon Magsaysay at past 8 a.m.

The driver, Esther Peralta, told GTV that she was backing out the SUV when it began belching smoke. When she shifted the gear into park, she said it suddenly accelerated, smashing into the bank’s glass door.
