MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area entered the country yesterday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The weather system was spotted 1,015 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City as of 3 p.m. yesterday.

PAGASA warned the public of floods and landslides as the trough or extension of the low-pressure area is expected to bring scattered rains over Caraga and Davao regions, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and North Cotabato.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will continue to prevail over extreme Northern Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to thunderstorms.
