4 convicted of online child sexual exploitation
MANILA, Philippines — A court in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu has convicted four women of online sexual exploitation of children, the International Justice Mission reported yesterday.
Three were sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to each pay a fine of P600,000 in exemplary and moral damages.
They were arrested in March 2019 for exploiting nine minors and charged with qualified trafficking in persons under the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
Another woman was sentenced to 23 years in prison and fined P600,000 for offering her three-year-old son and five-year-old daughter to online sexual predators in exchange for money.
She also pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, attempted traficking and obscene publication and
indecent shows.
