Another Pasay barangay placed on lockdown
MANILA, Philippines — Another barangay in Pasay was locked down yesterday amid the rising cases of COVID-19.
Barangay 37, which recorded seven active cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, was included by the city epidemiology and surveillance unit (CESU) in the list of areas under localized enhanced community quarantine.
CESU chief Mico Lorca said they are monitoring 97 households in the village.
The city government had placed 56 barangays on lockdown due to three or more active cases of COVID-19.
Pasay posted 42 active cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing to 441 the total number of active infections in the city.
Lorca said a 46-year-old woman from Pasay tested positive for the UK variant of COVID-19.
The local government has intensified contact tracing and swab tests among residents to avoid the spread of the viral disease.
