Soldier kills superior in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — An Army sergeant was shot dead by his subordinate following an argument in Barangay Piggatan in Alcala, Cagayan on Monday.

A police report said the incident occurred when Cpl. Rickson Rulloda confronted Sgt. Paulino Gavino Jr. for assigning him to another unit.

Gavino was declared dead on arrival at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

Rulloda surrendered and turned over the 9mm pistol he used in shooting Gavino.

Rulloda was charged with murder before the Department of Justice.
