MANILA, Philippines — Law enforcers confiscated a package containing 2,878 pills of the party drug ecstasy, valued at P4.89 million, at the Philippine Postal Corp. central office in Manila on Monday.
The drugs, hidden in a box of clothes and shoes, were seized from Ronron Salonga, 26, who claimed the parcel shipped by Mary Lumbao Edwards from the Netherlands and consigned to Susan Lumbao of Malate.
The controlled delivery was staged by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, according to Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas
Lawmen also confiscated an authorization letter and a photocopy of the consignee’s identification card.
