Pangasinan town exec, Kalinga gov’s aide slain

MANILA, Philippines — The head of the public order and safety office of Calasiao, Pangasinan was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding men yesterday.

Reynaldo Bugayong, 54, a resident of Barangay Dinalaoan, was on his motorcycle on his way to work when he was shot.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.

In Kalinga, Denver Sangdaan, a bodyguard of Gov. Ferdinand Tubban Jr. was killed while provincial government employee Jenner Ewad was wounded in a shooting on Monday night.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. RWin Pagkalinawan said the incident occurred when Army corporal Denmark Baddongon confronted Ewad over a P2,000 that the victim owed him.

Ewad was shot when he attempted to help Tubban.

Kalinga police director Col. Davvy Limmong said Baddongon surrendered yesterday.
