Chinese held for trying to snatch guard’s gun

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man was arrested in San Juan on Saturday on charges of attempting to snatch a security guard’s handgun, police said yesterday.

Lei Yang Bing, 23, was nabbed by security guard Librado Labrador.

The guard told probers that Lei suddenly tried to grab his .38-caliber gun while he was manning his post at West Greenhills Subdivision.

The suspect was brought to the police station for investigation. Labrador reportedly refused to file any charges against the Chinese.

Police requested for the transfer of Lei’s custody to the Bureau of Immigration as he remained uncooperative.
