MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday asked overseas voters to participate in the test run of internet voting solutions that may be adopted in next year’s polls.

Sonia Bea Wee-Lozada, director of the Comelec Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV), said they hope that Filipinos abroad would take part in internet voting solutions to be conducted by four election system providers.

These are Dominion Voting Systems, Indra, Smartmatic International and Voatz.

“We are calling on registered overseas voters to sign up for the test run,” Lozada said.

Lozada said those with active voter registration status are qualified to participate in the test run.

Participants must have complete biometrics data, including photograph, fingerprints and signature.

Interested participants are required to send signed consent forms together with a copy of their passport or seafarer’s book to [email protected] until Feb. 12.
