Mayor’s killer nabbed after 45 years on the run

BAGUIO CITY , Philippines — After hiding for 45 years, Jaime Tochok Bulatao, who is wanted for the killing of Mayor Alexander Alngag of Tinglayan, Kalinga, was arrested  in Tabuk City on Thursday.

A P75,000 reward has been offered for Bulatao’s arrest.

Warrants for multiple murder and murder were issued by Tabuk City Regional Trial Court Branch 25 Judge Marcelino Wacas.

Bulatao was also tagged in the ambush of Marcelo de la Cruz, former mayor of Rizal town, in 2008.

Meanwhile, Rogelio Garduque, 59, who was on the run for 30 years, was arrested in Balagtas, Bulacan on Wednesday.

Police said Garduque, a cashiered constable of the defunct Philippine Constabulary, was ranked fourth on the list of most wanted persons in Cagayan Valley.

Garduque reportedly assumed another name after he killed two persons in Claveria, Cagayan in 1988.
