Aftershocks expected from Surigao quake

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) warned yesterday of possible aftershocks from the magnitude-5.2 earthquake that hit Surigao del Sur on Sunday night.
The temblor occurred at 10:26 p.m. and its epicenter was located 65 kilometers northeast of Bayabas town. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Bislig City.
Phivolcs classifies an Intensity 2 temblor as “slightly felt.”
No damage was expected from the quake.
