MANILA, Philippines — A 75-year-old man was killed in a shootout with police officers in Taguig City yesterday.

Mechanic Sergio Credo was annoyed at the construction activities at his neighbor’s house and reportedly started firing from his house’s terrace along Katuray street in Lower Bicutan at around 9 a.m., according to city police chief Col. Celso Rodriguez.

Lorena Adriano and Jaime Yao, barangay watchmen, sustained gunshot wounds when they tried to pacify Credo.

Rodriguez said a police sniper shot Credo in the head.

Police recovered a pistol and its magazine and an improvised shotgun made of metal pipes, string and rubber straps, both found around a meter in front of Credo.
