Rainy weekend in Bicol, Eastern Visayas

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area spotted off Southern Leyte dissipated yesterday, but the tail-end of a frontal system will continue to dump rains over Bicol and Eastern Visayas this weekend, the state weather bureau said yesterday.

Raymond Ordinario, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said no weather disturbance is expected to affect the country in the next three days.

Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Northern Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience fair weather  apart from isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will experience fair weather aside from isolated rains due to thunderstorms.

PAGASA said zero or only one tropical cyclone is expected to enter or develop in the Philippine area of responsibility this month.

The first cyclone  to enter the country this year will be locally named Auring.
