Shabu lab discovered; P10.2 million drugs seized in Cainta
MANILA, Philippines — Police seized P10.2 million worth of illegal drugs from a medium-scale shabu laboratory in Cainta, Rizal on Thursday.
Police Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) personnel raided an apartment unit in Barangay San Andres at around 3 p.m. following a sting that resulted in the arrest of Khrystyn Pimentel, 30.
DEG director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million, around 2,000 Ecstasy tablets worth P3.4 million and 500 grams of marijuana valued at P60,000 were seized aside from drug paraphernalia and equipment used to manufacture illegal drugs.
Pimentel’s partner Jose Aguilar managed to escape. A certain Kuya was killed in a follow-up operation in Ermita, Manila after midnight yesterday.
Lee said the suspects are known as suppliers of party drugs in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. “They get their supply of illegal drugs from their foreigner and Filipino friends,” he said. – Ed Amoroso
