PNPA cadet who beat up classmate sacked

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas has ordered the dismissal of a graduating cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) who allegedly beat up his classmate on Thursday.

Sinas directed the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management to initiate termination and dismissal proceedings and file administrative charges against Cadet 1st Class Denvert Dulansi.

“The PNP has no tolerance for wrongdoings of erring personnel and will never tolerate any misconduct, abuse or breach of discipline,” Sinas said.

Dulansi reportedly beat up Joab Mar Nacnas at the roofdeck of a school building at the PNPA campus in Silang, Cavite at around 11 p.m.

Initial investigation showed Dulansi had a heated argument with Nacnas when the victim caught him drinking liquor with two other cadets.

Nacnas was brought to the Qualimed Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

Dulansi was brought to the Silang police station for investigation.

The two other cadets were placed under restrictive custody while an investigation is ongoing.
