Bus, van operations to Baguio resume after Christmas
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Provincial buses and UV express vans will be allowed to resume operations in this city after Christmas.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said yesterday the approved routes are those coming to this city from Mariveles in Bataan; San Fernando City, Clark and Mabalacat City in Pampanga; Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; Lingayen, San Carlos City and Villasis in Pangasinan, and Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Eight buses and vans will be initially allowed to operate. Unlimited trips from this city will be allowed depending on the requirements set by local government units (LGUs) in their destination.
Magalong said concerned bus companies and van associations should put up their own triages at their points of origin and terminals in the city subject to inspection by representatives of the city government as part of health and safety protocols.
He said passengers should present a negative antigen or swab test two hours before their travel.
Magalong said more buses and vans would be allowed to operate depending on the situation and policy of LGUs on the safe and calibrated revival of the local economy.
