Go sends aid to Pampanga typhoon victims
MANILA, Philippines — An outreach team of Sen. Bong Go has continued to deliver assistance to communities affected by Typhoon Ulysses in Pampanga.
“Galing ako diyan noong nakaraang Lunes sa Arayat at sa Candaba. Umikot rin ako sa mga iba’t ibang lugar, gaya ng Bulacan. Pasensya na hindi ako nakapunta diyan ulit dahil talagang busy, may session pa kami. Pero ang aking mga staff ay patuloy pong umiikot diyan sa Pampanga upang makapagbigay ng tulong sa inyo,” Go said in a video call.
Go’s team conducted distribution activities at the Glorietta gym in Arayat, municipal action center in Candaba, St. Mary’s College in Sta. Ana and Magalang town plaza on Tuesday and Wednesday.
They provided packed meals, food packs, vitamins, face masks and face shields to 3,903 beneficiaries.
Selected beneficiaries also received bicycles to help them travel amid limited public transportation. Others were given tablets so their children could better access educational modules under the blended learning program implemented in schools.
The senator said those who need urgent medical care could visit the Malasakit Center at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in San Fernando City.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial assistance to typhoon victims while the Department of Trade and Industry and National Housing Authority committed to extend livelihood and housing aid.
