MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were killed in a shooting near the Baclaran Church in Parañaque City on Monday night.
A still unidentified motorcycle-riding assailant shot Alexander Peña, 38, repeatedly in the head as he was cycling along Mactan street, according to a Southern Police District report. He died at the scene.
A stray bullet hit Ma. Nimfa Jacinto, 42, who was standing near Peña. She was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital from a gunshot wound in the chest.
Crime scene investigators recovered five 9mm bullet casings and three slugs.
Peña was reported to be a police informant on the illegal drug trade in the Baclaran area.
