Wanted American nabbed in Cebu
MANILA, Philippines — An American wanted for sexual offenses in the US has been arrested in Cebu, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported yesterday.
Donald Robert Tyler has been staying illegally in the country as the US government had cancelled his passport, according to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Tyler was arrested by a joint team of the BI and the National Bureau of Investigation in his house in Barangay San Roque, Ginatilan town on Thursday.
The operation against the suspect was based on a request of the US embassy in Manila.
An arrest warrant against the suspect was issued by a court in Josephine County in Oregon last year, according to BI fugitive search unit chief Bobby Raquepo.
The suspect was charged with the crime of sodomy in the first degree.
Tyler will be taken to Manila for detention in a BI facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig while authorities are processing his deportation.
