MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will open six UV Express routes in Metro Manila starting tomorrow.
Under Memorandum Circular 2020-074, the agency allowed 429 UV Express units to ply the routes for Calumpit, Bulacan to CIT in Quezon Avenue; Cogeo-Cubao; Cubao-Padilla; Robinsons Cainta-EDSA Central; Alabang-Imus and SM North EDSA-SM Fairview.
Only roadworthy units with a valid franchise or application for extension of validity, as well as personal passenger insurance policy, will be allowed to operate.
The LTFRB reminded operators and passengers to strictly comply with rules on the wearing of face masks and shields, social distancing and the prohibition on eating and talking in the vehicle.
The operator should also ensure that the vehicle is properly ventilated and disinfected and no passenger showing any symptoms will be allowed onboard.
