CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The turnover of command for the newly designated chief of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) police was cancelled yesterday due to Typhoon Ulysses.
Brig. Gen. Felipe Natividad, former chief of the Bohol police, was named chief of the Calabarzon police.
Natividad is also special police assistant to Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Ano.
The turnover of command is postponed until further notice, according to Cap. Mary Anne Torres, spokesperson for the Calabarzon police.
Torres said the order to postpone the ceremony came from Camp Crame.
Natividad replaced Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., who was named chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Danao replaced former NCRPO director Gen. Debold Sinas, who was appointed by President Duterte as chief of the Philippine National Police.
Natividad was appointed head of the Bohol police when Duterte assumed office in 2016. He led police forces in the fight against Abu Sayyaf bandits who attacked Bohol in 2017.
