4 government troopers wounded in Maguindanao blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines — Four government troopers were wounded when an improvised explosive device went off in Ampatuan, Maguindanao yesterday.

Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr., Western Mindanao Command chief said two soldiers and two members of the Civilian Active Auxiliary of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit were wounded.

The victims were taken to the Tomandong Hospital for treatment.

Vinluan said troops belonging to the Joint Task Force Central were conducting security and mine clearing operations in Barangay Salman when the incident occurred.
