Manila opens quarantine facility at PLM
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government opened yesterday a 66-bed quarantine facility at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), the 14th COVID-19 isolation center in the city.
Mayor Isko Moreno said this is the biggest quarantine facility built by the local government so far.
“The design of this quarantine site, which was built with the help of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, is world-class. The PLM isolation facility is well equipped,” Moreno said.
“Through experience, nagi-innovate yung facility at nagiging safe and comfortable for medical frontliners and COVID-19 patients,” he added.
Moreno was joined by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna during the launching.
He emphasized the importance of free mass testing and the establishment of quarantine facilities, saying these measures would help the city win the fight against COVID-19.
“Libre ang COVID testing tapos may ample healthcare and free food. I think wala na tayong dapat masyadong ipangamba,” Moreno said.
He encouraged the public to avail themselves of free COVID-19 testing being offered by the city government through walk-in centers and drive-thru sites.
“We just need to be careful and be honest to ourselves. By being honest, we’re showing love and compassion to our families and the community,” he said
