MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has allowed 61 authorized agent corporations (AACs) to resume the small town lottery or STL operation starting Oct. 1.

The gaming body issued a circular to all its AACs, allowing STL operations to resume, according to PCSO general manager and board vice chair Royina Garma.

On Sept. 16 and 23, the PCSO allowed eight AACs to resume operation. This week, 53 more will reopen, bringing the total number to 61.

STL operations in Ilocos Norte and Nueva Vizcaya resumed on Sept. 16, and on Sept. 23 in Abra, Davao del Sur, Ilocos Sur and Surigao del Sur as well as in the cities of Olongapo in Zambales and Cotabato City.

The PCSO gave assurance that health and safety protocols would be strictly implemented by the authorized agent corporations.

“Operations in authorized agents will be automatically suspended once their areas are placed under enhanced community quarantine,” the PCSO said.
