MANILA, Philippines — An operations manager of a marine transport service firm died before dawn yesterday, around 12 hours after he was ambushed in Tondo, Manila.
John Patrocinio, 46, died while being treated for gunshot wounds at the Tondo Medical Center at around 4:20 a.m.
Patrocinio was driving his red Toyota Revo (XMT-627) along Mel Lopez Boulevard when two men on a motorcycle attacked him in front of a gasoline station at around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday.
EMSgt. John Charles Duran, Manila Police District homicide investigator, said the victim had just left his office in Power V Marine Transport Services at Pier 18 when he was ambushed.
Duran said they are still trying to determine the motive. Patrocinio’s wife said her husband “could have incurred enemies because of his volatile temper.”
