MANILA, Philippines — The innermost southbound lane of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) will be closed for three months to pave the way for the construction of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) Cavite extension project, according to the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC).
The lane near Parañaque bridge was closed to motorists starting yesterday up to Dec. 15 to give way to Maynilad’s pipe relocation works required for the construction relative to the LRT-1 Cavite extension project, the LRMC said.
Meanwhile, the Pacific Drive entry to CAVITEX is now open to vehicular traffic and is expected to serve up to 90,000 vehicles daily. The Cavite Infrastructure Corp. said the opening of the Pacific Drive entry is part of the enhancement of the 14-kilometer expressway and will serve as an alternative route for motorists coming from Roxas Boulevard.
