13 hurt as bus plows through 13 vehicles

MANILA, Philippines — A public utility bus rammed 11 motorcycles, another bus and a car in Makati yesterday morning, injuring 13 persons.

The motorcycles, a JAC Liner bus and a sport utility vehicle were at a red light at the intersection of Osmeña Highway and Arnaiz Avenue when a Pitbull bus driven by Marlon Nacaytona, 29, rear-ended them at around 9 a.m., according to a police report.

The collision left all the motorcycle drivers and two back riders injured.

Nacaytona, who claimed his brakes malfunctioned, was brought to the Makati police station for investigation and faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and multiple physical injuries.
