Bulacan now has 4 COVID-19 testing labs

MALOLOS, Philippines — There are now four COVID-19 testing laboratories in Bulacan.

Jocelyn Gomez, provincial public health officer, said these are the Joni Villanueva Molecular Laboratory in Bocaue, one at the Qualimed Health Network in San Jose del Monte City and two at Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) in Malolos.

Guiguinto Mayor Ambrosio Cruz, president of the League of Municipalities in the Philippines (LMP) in Bulacan, said swab testing at the molecular laboratory in Bocaue is the cheapest at P2,000.

Cruz said the laboratory is public-private partnership of LMP-Bulacan with the Marilao Testing Center in coordination with the Department of Health, and could conduct up to 1,500 tests per day.

Qualimed Health Network charges P3,300 per swab test while the cost of testing at the two laboratories at the BMC are between P4,500 to P7,000.
