KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — Four members of the Dawlah Islamiya or Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were killed in law enforcement operations in Polomolok, South Cotabato in the past two days.
Police said Ottho Alangan shot it out with personnel of the Soccsksargen police and Army’s 5th Special Forces Battalion serving an arrest warrant at his hideout in Barangay Lumakil.
Muadz Modjih was killed in an alleged gunfight with pursuing government troopers.
Noel Castrana and Amer Pagalasan were shot dead in a follow-up operation yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Michael John Dubria, Soccsksargen police director, said the fatalities were with the group of BIFF bandits led by Geofrey Nilong and Abu Omar.
